Youth for Reviving Humanity

The “Youth for Reviving Humanity” initiative, launched in response to escalating global challenges and conflicts, aimed to nurture a culture of peace, tolerance, and understanding among the world’s youth. It envisioned a world where peace conquered conflict and love triumphed over hate. The mission was to equip young people worldwide with the knowledge and empowerment needed to promote peace, aid conflict victims, and advocate for social justice. The initiative had four core objectives: promoting global peace through dialogue among cultures, supporting conflict victims regardless of background, empowering youth for leadership in conflict resolution, and fostering international collaborations. It organized various activities like workshops and interactive sessions led by experts in conflict resolution, human rights, and peace support. The initiative’s pinnacle event was held in Sharm El Sheikh from December 3-5, 2023.

About the World Youth Forum

The WYF is an annual International forum that takes place in the City of Sharm El-Sheikh in South Sinai, under the auspices of H.E. President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, president of Egypt.

Four editions of the WYF were held in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021. The forum aims to bring together young people from across the world, enabling them to engage in discussions on development issues, and send a message of peace from Egypt to the world. The UN Social and Economic Council has designated the WYF as an international platform to discuss youth issues and causes.

World Youth Forum 2023

The World Youth Forum 2023 launches a large package of development initiatives and projects, the WYF will not take place in its traditional annual format in the Red Sea city of Sharm El-Sheikh due to the recent successive global crises and their humanitarian and economic repercussions. Instead, the proceeds from sponsorship revenues will be directed towards implementing a package of important development initiatives and programs that have a direct impact on citizens and young people, both in Egypt and abroad, in cooperation with the forum’s international and local partners.

This move serves as a call to implement development instead of discussing ways to achieve it.

The programs and initiatives include:

  • Startups, Entrepreneurship, and SMEs Initiative

An initiative for supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and helping entrepreneurs start or expand their businesses, especially in villages included in the Haya Karima Initiative. This is in cooperation with the Ebda initiative for the development of Egyptian industry, the Haya Karima Foundation, the Federation of Egyptian Industries, Entlaq Company, the UN Industrial Development Organization, the UN Development Programme, and the International Labour Organization.

  • Learning to Earning

The ‘Learning to Earning’ initiative, which aims to qualify Egyptian, Arab, African, and expatriate youth for the labor market and help them overcome obstacles and obtain decent jobs. The initiative will be implemented in cooperation with the UN Children’s Fund and the National Training Academy.

  • Food Security Program

A program to tackle the challenges of food security and develop the capacities of farmers and food industries in Egypt and Africa. Participants include the Ebda initiative, the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, the Haya Karima Foundation, and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.

  • Mental Health Support Program

A mental health support program for the victims of conflict zones, in cooperation with the Fahim Foundation and the World Health Organization.

  • Refugees and Migrants Initiative

An international initiative to support and empower refugees and migrants and enhance their integration into educational, healthcare, and social protection programs through cooperation with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Egypt, the International Organization for Migration, Save the Children, and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
