The United Nations model focused mainly on the issue of combating threats to international security, with a major focus on the issue of terrorism. The model ended up voting on a resolution calling for combating extremism and terrorism by taking measures such as stopping funding of terrorist groups and better border control through cooperation among member states, and also emphasizing the role of civil society in the fight against terrorism. The resolution also stressed the importance of preventing the transfer and proliferation of small arms and preventing terrorist groups from gaining access to such weapons. The resolution also calls for a more comprehensive border control mechanism, such as face recognition and better identification systems. It also stressed the role of spreading principles such as peace, integrity, transparency and security among all countries of the world. The resolution also called for tougher measures to prevent terrorist groups from accessing the raw materials and capabilities to help them manufacture weapons. During the closing session of the model, Mr. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi called for drafting an official document for the procedures of this model and sending a delegation to the United Nations to submit the document.
